Research Interests: Fish Reproduction and Aquatic Conservation
Knowledge of the low temperature effects on reproductive cells metabolism has led to the development of protocols for cryopreservation of gametes and embryos and the establishment of standardized techniques to assess gamete quality. The applications of this research reach the aquaculture sector contributing to increase fish reproductive performance in farms, as well as the conservation area by preserving endangered aquatic species through the creation of germplasm banks.
