Research Interests: Non-Ruminant Production Systems
When we increase nutrient use efficiency in animal diets, we benefit the economic and environmental sustainability of our production systems. Our research projects are developed to optimize productive responses of non-ruminant animals. We work on areas including evaluation of management practices, feeding programs, nutritional demands, and food additives. Besides conventional experiments, our team also uses innovative tools such as database structuring, life cycle assessment, modelling, and meta-analysis. We believe that precision animal science is going to be fundamental to swine and poultry production in a few decades, so we are developing and evaluating these technologies for the kind of animal production that we want for the future.
